Description
A shot back at the huge seracs hanging over the Trift glacier after a quick morning summit of Weissmeis. The ambient temperature was around -10 and the windchill made it feel about -20. Looking at this shot reminds me how bitterly cold it was

About your photography
I’ve always taken photos in the hills with an old Rollei 35B camera inherited from my Dad. It is a wonderfully light and compact setup, and the fully manual controls have taught me a lot about photography. I’ve just bought my first
DSLR, however, which offers a whole different world of flexibility and control. I’m very much a beginner, but having a lot of fun learning

On the Ice
Description
This photo was taken on expedition in the Gronau Nunatakker range in eastern Greenland in August 2006. I was in my usual pulk-hauking position – 100 metres behind the other two! My favourite aspect of this picture is the sky: layers and layers of deep, unpolluted blue. The picture reminds me how small we felt out there: the three of us, several hundred miles from the nearest human beings, in a massive expanse of ice, rock and sky.
